Advanced Camp '99

Now that I've got time to reflect back upon camp, it really wasn't that bad.   You've just got to be able to go there with a sense of humor, and don't make a big deal out of little things.  The first week or so is all in garrison and may bore you to death, but it does start to pick up from there.  You get to fire the M-60, throw a live hand grenade, and even get to experience the fun of the gas chamber.  At the beginning of the fourth week, you go out to SQD STX, and for the fifth week you go to PLT STX.

By far, the best part of camp was meeting and getting to know so many great people from all over this great country of ours.  Take advantage of this opportunity and befriend as many people as you can.  It will help the time pass quicker and your overall camp experience will be more enjoyable.  You may be a much better cadet than most of the others, or you may be the worst, either way, everyone has his or her strengths and the best platoons use the strengths of each and every member.

On the great people note, I have volunteered to help my platoon at Advanced Camp (5B3!! Honor Platoon, just kidding!!) share and remember what our experience was like.   That is what this page is dedicated to.

I intend to put the following on this page.

My comments about camp (if anyone else wants to type theirs up and send them to me, I will post them), my pictures from camp (I only took one roll with a disposable camera, so it didn't come out too well.  I NEED pictures from everyone.  You all promised me to find a way to scan in your pictures and e-mail them to me, I better start seeing some soon!! Also, send an idea for a caption to your pictures as well.), and memories from 3rd platoon (I'm thinking of some sort of quote page or something).
